OPEN FAIR DIVISION

GENERAL RULES

 

Open to residents of Juneau and Adams counties and all geographic areas of the Wonewoc-Center and Royall School Districts.

1.     Refer to health regulations, for all animals shown at fair. These rules will be absolutely adhered to. Only registered animals may be shown as purebred. Vaccination requirements will be enforced.

2.     No exhibitor can have the same entries in JUNIOR and OPEN and SENIOR divisions.

3.     All animals must be clean & properly fitted.

4.     Registration papers required for all purebred animals & must be shown to superintendent upon request.

5.         Only first prize animals may show for championship.

6.         No animal may be entered in the name of any person other than the legal owner or owners, & should any prove

         to be otherwise entered, the premiums awarded them will be forfeited.

7.     Exhibitor will be allowed only one entry under each premium number for individual animals.

8.     Pen rental will be charged according the fees listed on the entry form.   ALL pen & stall rental fees MUST be included with the entry forms.  There will be no refunds made.

9. Only four places will be made in each premium number. If no items are up to standard, no placing will be made in that premium number.

10.   Placing can be dropped 1 place if placing instructions are not followed.

BEEF CATTLE

may be sold at end of Meat Animal Sale on Saturday.

Definitions:

   A Junior Calf-one born on or after Jan. 1 of exhibit year & shall be at least 4 months old at time of exhibit

   A Senior Calf-one whose date of birth is between Sept. 1 & Dec. 31 of year preceding exhibit year

   A Summer Yearling-one whose date of birth is between May 1 & Aug. 31 of year preceding exhibit year

   A Junior Yearling-one whose date of birth is between Jan. 1 & April 30 of year preceding exhibit year

   A Senior Yearling-one whose date of birth is between Sept.1 & Dec.31 of 2nd year preceding exhibit year 

   A 2 year-old or older cow is one born before Sept. 1 of second year preceding exhibit year which has

      calved during the past year.

   A Cow & Calf is a cow born before Sept. 1 of second year preceding exhibit year which has her

      present year’s calf at her side.

 

All animals must be purebred unless otherwise stated.

Does which have freshened shall be shown in the appropriate lot number.

 

Definitions:

   The age of the animals for determining the appropriate lot number shall be computed

          from the opening day of the fair.

   Junior Doe Kid-under 4 months of age

   Senior Doe Kid-at least 4 months

      but under 7 months of age

   Junior Yearling Doe-at least 7 months

      but under 12 months of age

   Senior Yearling Doe-is at least 12

      months but under 24 months of age and

      the doe is not in milk

   Yearling Milkers-under 2 yrs of age & in milk

   Junior Milkers-at least 2 yrs but under 3 yrs

   Mature Milkers-at least 3 yrs but under 5 yrs

EXOTIC DOMESTIC ANIMALS

 

All exhibitors are required to follow the regulations at beginning of
the Open Division & the WI State Animal Health Rules & Regulations

 

All exotic domestic animals are to be brought to the fair grounds

for judging only & must be in place by 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

 

Exhibitors of these exotic domestic animals must be with

their animals at all times while they are on the fair grounds.

 

Exhibitors of these exotic domestic animals must bring their own pens, cages, etc.

to contain their animals safely while they are on the fair grounds.

1.     All exhibitors enter at their own risk

2.     Each exhibitor shall provide their own feed and bedding and will be responsible for their animals

3.     All fairground rules and Wisconsin Administrative code for County and District fairs apply.

4.     The judge and/or superintendent reserves the right to excuse any exhibitor from the show (without refund) that is behaving in a disruptive manner, has violated show rules or has an animal that has not been properly cared for.

5.     The age of the animals, for the show classes, will be determined as of the show date.

6.     A brief history of the exhibitor and exotic animal being shown must be turned in at check-in time for use during the show.

7.     The owner of the exotic animal must show proof that the animal was wormed within 10 days of the show and must provide immunization records.

8.     The participant must own the exotic animal shown or have worked with the exotic animal during the year.

9.     Youth must be 12 years or older to show intact males 24 months and over.

·      Llama over 5 months at halter or

               driven to a cart to be dressed out

               in any manner at the option of the

               exhibitor’s attire.  

·      To be judged on the beauty and/or originality coordinated with llama’s

1. Exhibitor can make only one entry in each lot number.

3. Exhibits must be in the exhibit building by entry deadline given in yearly schedule of events.

4. Exhibits must remain in place until release time as given in yearly schedule of events.

5. Only four placings will be made in each lot number.  Judge will place entries based on preset standards.

On each entry tag write the name of the variety of the field crop entered in Lots 1-9.

Grains must be exhibit as ½ peck of grain within a gallon size zip lock bag

Sheaf Grains - Exhibit is one (1) sheaf. Sheaf must measure at least three inches in diameter at center band. Good quality has fine stems and many leaves. Cure all hay so the leaves stay on. In making up exhibits, leave on as many leaves as possible.
