Juneau County Fairest of the Fair

Miss Abbie Jo Holig

Text Box: Hello!             My name is Abbie Jo Holig and it has been my pleasure to serve this past year as your Juneau County Fairest of the Fair.  I am the daughter of Robert and Joan Holig of Mauston.  Currently, I am a junior pursuing a degree at the University of Wisconsin- Madison in Dairy Science and Spanish with hopes of returning to the family farm.             The theme for the 2009 Juneau County Fair was Come Shine in 2009, and it was fitting as we had remarkable weather and impressive projects for all to enjoy.  I was honored to spend my fair days introducing grandstand events, awarding ribbons to exhibitors, and taking part in media interviews.             Being Fairest of the Fair, I have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people who all contributed something unique and special to Juneau County.  We have much to be proud of in this county and the Juneau County Fair lies near the top of this list.  The passion, commitment, and enthusiasm that I have witnessed while representing this area has proven to me the potential that Juneau County holds for a thriving fair for many generations to come.              Becoming involved in the Fairest of the Fair program has been rewarding beyond measure and I am excited to not only encourage someone to take my position this next year, but also to invite a young lady to be the first Juneau County Junior Fairest.  The qualifying girl will have the opportunity to stand beside the Fairest and gain valuable experience in communication and promotion of the Juneau County Fair.                   I would like to thank my parents, Robert and Joan Holig, my sister and Fairest Coordinator Heidi Finucan, all local businesses, friends of the fair, and the fair board for supporting me throughout my exciting year and being advocates for the Fairest of the Fair program.  Thank You!             I look forward to working with future Fairests!                                                Abbie Jo Holig                                                  N2097 Holig Rd                                                  Mauston, WI 53948                                                    holig@wisc.edu                                                  (608)547-8600
